FabFitFun Summer 2019 Add-Ons and Mystery Bundles!

I am very much the type of person that buys crap ton of stuff when my mood isn’t so great…..enter FabFitFun add-on sale. I think the combination of wanting new skincare products and feeling kind of crappy led me to my INSANE purchase that I will be sharing today.

I actually think the add-ons and the edit sales are my favorite thing about FabFitFub. I do love their boxes a ton but the access to these sales makes it even more worth my while. As an annual subscriber, I also get early access to the products which is super handy because a lot of them sell out……but actually, if you didn’t know, you can just favorite and item that you want that may have sold out and then check your ‘favorites’ section because more often than not, the item restocks. Sometimes I spend a lot of time refreshing my favorites page if I REALLY want a particular item.

In this case, I bought all of the mystery bundles that FFF had to offer because this was the first time I had seen them offer curated bundles. Normally, it’s just a bundle and you have LITERALLY no idea what is coming in them. This time, they offered 4: Fashionista, Beauty Guru, Fitness Fanatic, Jet Setter. I also got a normal one just for comparison.

Let’s dive in! Check out my unboxing video if you’d like some extra first impression commentary.

Let me first show you some of the items that I got that were not the mystery bundles. These were items I just had to have….because YOLO.

Freaking stunning oversized aviators by Quay. I love the color of these and I think they are the perfect addition to my summer!

The best body scrub and bath bombs I have ever used! Seriously, if I could have purchased more I absolutely would have BUT you can only buy 3 of any item.

Mystery Bundle for the Jet Setter

  1. Snuggie Travel Blanket/Pillow:
    • I absolutely love that this is included in this bundle. I am traveling soon and I often wish I had a pillow BUT I am too cheap to buy one itself. Now I have a double whammy pillow/blanket combo.
  2. JetSet & Go Travel Pouch:
    • This is such a cute summery print. Since my little man will be accompanying me, I will certainly have a bunch of crap to tote around and this will be a great way to organize.
  3. Ahava Body Lotion (3):
    • My skin definitely gets super dry and I love that there is a set of 3 in this bundle. This makes transporting my lotion simple and I think this might even be a good size to carry on the plane!

I think overall this is a great little travel bundle. Everything seems ‘in style/current’ and I think it fits in the curation really well. I will get use out of each product.

Mystery Bundle for the Beauty Guru

  1. Mother Dirt Cleanser for Face and Body:
    • I am started to get overwhelmed with washes! I normally wouldn’t reach for something that can be used on my face AND body so I will probably just use this for my body – my face tends to be pretty sensitive. I am definitely excited this is included but it might be a bit before I use it!
  2. Ahava Mineral Mud Mask:
    • This is such a weird mud mask. When you put it on, it has an iridescent green color to it which is out of the norm for a mud mask. It was nice enough on my skin but I didn’t notice any real difference that it is supposed to accomplish, specifically brightness or hydration. It didn’t dry out my skin but I didn’t really notice it did anything to my face.
  3. Marrakesh Argan Oil:
    • Again, this is something that I have somehow began piling up. I have seen this used as hair oils but since my hair is easily weighed down, I definitely wont be using this for that. It says it can be used for body/face so that might be a nice addition for some boosted hydration..although I don’t usually use oils on either!

Overall, I think this is a good box for a beauty guru. I hope that each product will be good for my sensitive skin but in general, if you want to try out some skincare products, this might be a decent bundle. I wish it included makeup BUT skincare is important too.

Mystery Bundle for the Fitness Fanatic

  1. Skinvolve Body Cream:
    • I guess this is ‘fitness’ because it has the word karate in it. It boasts caffeine for extra energy and toning. It is always nice to have some extra skin hydration after a nice shower after you’ve had a good workout.
  2. Athleisure Clothes Wash:
    • This states that it handles odors in clothes. Again, I guess this is good after a nice ol sweaty workout.
  3. Easy Soothing Facial Mist:
    • Ugh. This is just frustrating. A skin mist is not what I think of when I think of fitness. It sounds nice but I don’t know how this will boost my fitness game.

I’ll be real. I think this bundle sucks. I have gotten a random mystery bundle that was more geared towards FITNESS than this – it included resistance bands, roll on muscle oil for sore muscles, and a tote I think. This has nothing that screams fitness to me. What do y’all think?

Mystery Bundle for the Fashionista

  1. Summer & Rose Earrings:
    • These are cute gold dangle earrings which I think I can pair with almost anything in my wardrobe….the only thing I don’t like about them is that they have some weird color discoloration on the flat circular coin part of the earring. I’m not sure what metal they are actually made of BUT they are cute regardless.
  2. Scarf:
    • I am annoyed this is included. One thing I wish FFF did is stayed current with the seasons. Like I have so many freaking scarves and this is so thick that I definitely can’t use it until fall or winter. It’s good but it’s nothing special.
  3. Sunglasses:
    • These are freaking hideous on my face. I hate the shape…but they seem like nice enough quality. I just won’t wear them. Ever.

I hate this bundle and I don’t think it is very fashion forward. I don’t really have anything good to say about it unfortunately.

LET’S END THIS ON A POSITIVE NOTE!

These are the items that I also purchased outside of the mystery bundles. I am absolutely in love with the tanning products – they have such a natural looking tan coloration and the foam formula is great when I applied it with the mit that came with each. I highly recommend. The Kate Somerville cleanser is amazing of course! And I have never had anything from Beauty Blender before so this will be great to use!

Final Thoughts

Here is a pic of the final lineup. You might notice that there is an unwrapped mystery bundle…..because it was a repeat of my last mystery bundle haul. I feel like it was a fun experience to see the curated bundles but honestly, I don’t think they were anything special. I much prefer the things I purchased aside from that.

I think the add-on sales and edit sales are definitely worth having the FabFitFun subscription in general. The discounts are always amazing and there are amazing brands on there every freaking time. It always gets me in trouble.

Did you guys get anything? Are you interested in a FabFitFun subscription? I have a referral link ($10 off) AND I have 5 starter boxes which are always freaking amazing – all you do is pay for the shipping and then you can cancel if you don’t want the actual subscription (the shipping is like $5 and gives you about $75 in products I believe). Just let me know down below!

As always, thanks so so much for reading! I truly appreciate it. Til next time!

I’M BACK with a New Box! Top Knot Tribe Box Summer 2019

Hey you guys! What’s up and welcome back. I took some time off because honestly I was a little drained from how many giveaways and socialization I was doing. I am VERY introverted…although I try to push my social boundaries because YOLO….and sometimes it can be VERY draining. But I am back and I am excited to share a new box with you guys. I haven’t seen many unboxings or reviews so I am excited to share what’s inside.

This is the Top Knot Tribe Box which I found on CrateJoy and is a seasonal box which starts at $45. I love seasonal boxes because they are usually jam packed full of goodies and sometimes getting things monthly can be overwhelming. I also uploaded the actual unboxing on my YouTube channel if you want to check that out as well!

Let’s dive into these goodies!!! Also, thank you guys so much for coming back. It truly means so so much to me.

I absolutely love the way this box looks…it might also be the reason I chose this box. This box promises home items. jewelry, beauty, and more. They also partner with businesses owned by women which I think is great BUT I will admit that is not the reason I ordered. I just really like these type of lifestyle boxes.

We have a couple info cards which outline a little bit about why these products were chosen AND a little bit about the women behind each business.

You open the box up and you can see just how full it is!

Item One: Makeup Bag

I think this is such a cute design for a makeup bag (or whatever bag). It is printed on what feels like a woven plastic textured bag which seems easy to clean. Although I list this as a makeup bag, I really love to use these bags for random things like feminine products, or diapers, or whatever else I can find. I definitely love the summer beach print on this bag. It makes me wish I lived near a sunny beach!

Item Two: Soap or Jewelry Tray

I absolutely love having these around the house. I am the worst about taking off my earrings or rings and just putting them down. I also love that this matches the cute bag listed above – there is nothing that gets you in the summer mood more than beach vibes!

Item Three: Raspberry Lime Shower Frosting

I have never heard of ‘shower frosting’ but it sounds freaking fabulous.

I love the way it looks with the little flecks of color throughout. It kind of makes me think of a fruity smoothie! When I used this, it was SO FLUFFY! I absolutely loved the texture – fluffy with little exfoliation beads. It was such a great texture to use in the shower…and if I am honest, I feel like it would have been great to eat too….BUT back to the shower, it made my skin feel nice and hydrated with a pleasant exfoliation texture too. I was not a huge fan of the scent but if there was a different scent, I would absolutely buy this again.

Item Four: Wooden Sign

It says that this is included in the box as a gift you can give to your mother. Since my mother lives across the country, I am afraid that the shipping cost would be more than the sign is worth BUT I love that they included something like this to gift to someone. As someone who gets a lot of subscription boxes, it can feel like you are overindulging in spoiling yourself so it is nice to give back sometimes.

Item Five: Rustic Sign

I absolutely love these types of signs – wood with canvas is right up my alley. I think the quote on there is great to have around the house because let’s be real, sometimes life can get in the way of seeing the big picture or having an optimistic outlook. This will look great in my house!

Item Six: Top Five Sticky Notes

I am very much someone who writes notes all over the house. I have planners and notes on my phone and all kinds of things to remind me of what I was thinking. My parents were always making lists of things they wanted to achieve for the day because they loved to check them off as completed…I have of course picked up this habit because I feel like the only way I can feel like I have done anything is actually seeing it marked off my list. This is a super cute addition and something I will get a lot of use out of.

Item Seven: Daily Journal

At first, I wasn’t too excited about it. I like journals but I feel like I forget to use them. After I opened this up though, I was SO EXCITED!

When you open this, it has quotes to start off your day and has lists to help you focus on what you want to get out of each day. So many times I find myself getting caught up in silly things that in the big picture won’t matter. This will help me start off each day on a positive note. There are various ‘acts of kindness’ placed in the book as well which I think is a great addition.

Here is a back summary in case you are interested too!

Item Eight and Nine: Soap Bar and Chapstick

I am so excited about this soap bar. If you have read any of my other bath product reviews, you’ll see that I get a lot of soap bars. I love that this one is scented like a margarita (and let me tell you that it DOES smell like a nice salted marg) and I love that this has gentle exfoliation in it. It is coming into fake tan season for me so I need my skin nice and exfoliated. I am not using this right now since I have like a million bars of soap open, but when I do use this, I will absolutely let y’all know how it is!

The chapstick is absolutely fantastic! It has a silky texture that makes your lips feel so hydrated and protected. I love that the ingredients aren’t anything I can’t pronounce or haven’t seen before and it has a fabulous peppermint taste – reminiscent of Burt’s Bees. I definitely will use this whole thing…..if the soap is amazing too, I will definitely purchase from this shop again!

I love how they put business cards in the box too. There have been multiple times where I have tried to find a shop on Etsy and had some difficulty so this will be great to use if I want to re-purchase anything.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Overall, I think this is a great box! I wish there was retail prices listed but I love each product. Each item is something I can use for my well-being and making my house a happy space. I think I will go ahead and get another box because some of the other pictures they have from past boxes look lovely!

What do you guys think? Think it’s worth $50? I would absolutely love to hear from you guys.

Thanks so much for coming back and reading with me. I hope you guys have a lovely day – til next time!

Penny + Grace – Affordable and Amazing

I don’t know how I found this subscription BUT I am so happy I did. I used this to replace Glamour Jewelry Box because I wasn’t too happy with the overall quality of the last box I got. This is actually more affordable than that box, coming in at $19.98 for three items. You can also choose which type of metal you want: gold, silver, and rose gold OR do a random selection (which is what I did).

It comes in this great outer bag which I love because it makes organization and storage so much easier! It doesn’t look like there is an info card so we are going to wing it.

For some reason, it looks like I got 4 items this month!! I love how the others come in their own individual bag – it makes it so much easier to store.

I hate that I didn’t even notice that tiny little speck of whatever on the bag. Typical

Item One: Passport Necklace

This is SUCH a cute little passport necklace. I love that this has such detail despite being small. The quality is definitely there and it is sooooo beautiful!

Item Two: Airplane Necklace with Mini Bling Details

Next, we have a second stunning necklace. I love that there seems to be a ‘travel’ theme. In this picture, you can also see the little tag at the clasping area of the necklace which has a P+G emblem. I love this little detail and it is on all of their pieces.

Item Three: Compass Bracelet

This also has amazing detail despite being small. It also features an adjustable chain to fit multiple wrist sizes!

Item Four: Bar Bracelet with Bling Detail

This is also similar to the previous bracelet! Just so stunning!

Let me show you the final lineup!

You can see the little emblem tags in this pic as well! Overall, I am STUNNED by the quality of each item and that you get this beautiful set for $20. I also love that there is a theme amongst all of the pieces. Like I said before, you can also choose the metal that you want AND it is so easy to change your choice. I am excited to see what comes next!!

Thanks for reading! Til next time!

GlobeIn Tasting Unboxing

Today, I have a super exciting unboxing that I haven’t seen many people do (which is surprising because it’s amazing). Make sure to check out my video if you want to see my awesome awkwardness in action.

Ok, so as the title implies, we are looking into the GlobeIn Tasting box which was one of the themes for March. If you are unfamiliar with the subscription, let me tell you a little bit about it! This subscription features handmade, ethically sourced goods from around the world by amazing artisans. Each Artisan Box is filled with at least $70 in value and includes 4-5 handmade items by artists from around the world. The cost is $48 a month but there is a more ‘add-on’ type subscription if you are interested. Also, I have a referral link which will get you $30 off the Artisan Box if you’re interested.

I forgot to take a picture of the outer box

So as you can see, the box is a decent size (and if you can’t see, check out the video). I am going to go ahead and show you the two *free* glasses I got for signing up! They literally always have promos going on where you get free items like this.

Aren’t these just stunning?! They are SUCH amazing quality and beautiful. I cannot wait to add these to the collection I just ordered from add-ons.

We have the info booklet which tells you about the products and the artisans who made them. I am going to include all the information because I absolutely love it!!!!

First Item: Tasting Journal

Jot down your thoughts and comments on the flavors, origins, and tasting notes of new bottles and brands.

This is such a great thing to include in a tasting box. There are so many intricate details that go into different beers, wines, and teas. I love picking up on these notes but I have the worst memory so keeping track of what I like and why I like it is always a struggle. This give me one organized place to keep track of my thoughts! My whole family loves craft beers so this will be a great way to share and discuss with them.

Second Item: Handwoven Bottle Coaster

Dress your favorite 40-ounce bottle of beer, wine, or champagne to add a bit of festive-flare to any table top set-up.

We are always reaching for coasters in our house but we definitely don’t have anything so beautifully made or so large. I mean this can fit a biggggg bottle…..which means more drinking for me! It is nice and thick which means nothing will seep into the surface below which is important in keeping your furniture safe! I just love the colors and that it is handwoven.

Third Item: Hand-carved Flight Stand

Place your teal-rim Tasting Glasses on this stand, cleverly shaped as a wine bottle, for organization.

I have been wanting to get a flight for my home for a while now. My favorite thing when going to a new brewery is to try a bunch of what they have because I am always so indecisive. Now, I can make tasting at home a more fun experience! This could organize any kind of tasting with the cute glasses that are in here too.

Fourth Item: Tasting Glass Set in Teal

Sample new brands of beers and wines, or try out cocktail recipes on your friends.

I AM SO EXCITED!!!! These glasses are SO BEAUTIFUL!!! I cannot emphasize this enough. They are indented on the sides which helps for handling, they are thicker glass -the weight makes it feel unique and valuable, and I love the teal rim. I can see myself putting little toppings in this and of course I can see all kinds of beers, wines, and teas in here too. This is such a great thing to add to my current glassware.

Fifth Item: Bottle Opener Necklace

Wear as a necklace and surprise your friends with its hidden bottle-opening functionality!

There is nothing that says you’re classy like a handmade necklace that functions as a bottle opener. Seriously, look at how stunning this is!!! I am always reaching for random things to open bottles but this is something you can wear as jewelry and then whip out to pop tops. I just love that! Plus, the design is stunning.

Final Thoughts

Here is the final lineup of everything that I received and I am over the moon! Everything fits into the theme so well and is something I can see myself using frequently. I love seeing the artisan’s stories in the booklet and I love that there is support for artisans all over the world. The value is definitely there and each item is visibly high-quality. The functionality of each item is diverse: the glasses can be used for sampling food, beverages; the necklace can just be jewelry or a bottle opener; the coaster can hold any type of bottle or glass. I am just so happy with this!!!! Let me just show you a few more pictures of the items closeup.

There is even this tasty recipe!!!!!!

Thank you guys so so much for reading. Til next time!!

Birchbox March 2019

I did it again – I bought a new subscription because I saw you could get two free gifts. I am a sucker for free things and I don’t know why….like I am still buying something. They always get me. I can pretty much be talked into buying anything. Like literally. It’s a mix between me being too awkward to say no and also I am down to try almost any product at least once.

I also got these two gifts for signing up!

The funny thing is they sent me double which I am really excited about because that pillow spray is the bomb. The little candle is crap though.

I just think this is so cute for an outer box.

And here we can see another box that I will add to my hoarder collection because I have a problem.

This is out little info sheet – I really love this quote. I need to tell myself something like this more often.

Ok, on to the products!

First Item: Manna Kadar Cosmetics Eyedylic Gel Liner – $19

Formulated for long-lasting, budge-proof wear, this jet black eyeliner glides on effortlessly. Dot the color along your lash line, then fill in to create your desired look.

I love this type of pencil eyeliner. I don’t usually buy black so this is nice to have. I have to admit that I suck with liquid eyeliner so I usually take a pencil like this and make everything look like I’m a pro. This specific pencil is so smooth and pigmented. I am really excited to try to add a little more black eyeliner looks to my routine.

Second Item: Purlisse Watermelon Energizing Aqua Balm – $45 for full size

Watermelon hydrates, aloe vera reduces inflammation, and cucumber soothes in this gel moisturizer that instantly energizes skin. Apply a thin, even layer to your face before SPF.

I am so sad this is small because I LOVE IT! Normally, I hate products that have a scent on my face because I am really sensitive. However, this one is so refreshing and delightful that I don’t even mind it. It makes me get all kinds of summer vibes and let’s be real, everyone wants that. The balm itself is really light and it doesn’t take much to drench your face in hydration. I definitely think this is a homerun.

Third Item: Marula Light Hair Oil Treatment – $26 for full size

This sulfate- and paraben-free oil conditions, tames frizz, and adds shine without weighing hair down. Run a dime-sized amount through damp or dry strands.

I have been trying this out for like a week now and I don’t know that I’ve seen any difference. I can tell you this: it is super lightweight and doesn’t weigh down my thin ass hair so that’s a plus. As far as benefits go, I really can’t see any. Also, there is no scent which is unfortunate for me with hair products because I want my hair to smell like a perfumed luscious garden.

Fourth Item: Natura Castanha Hand Cream – $19.50 for full size

This rich, delicately scented hand balm softens and smooths skin while strengthening its natural moisture barrier. It leaves your hands feeling nourished, not greasy.

This is a really great hand cream that is nice and thick but not overbearing. It makes my skin feel nice and hydrated – I have been putting it on before bed and my hands have been feeling soft and refreshed every morning. It doesn’t have much scent which is pleasant. The price point for a full-size seems affordable too!

Fifth Item: Model Co Metallic Eyeshadow Trio in Positano – $18 for full size

Three complimentary shimmery shades of light peach, violet, and chocolate make uptimes this vibrant metallic palette that’ll give you a sultry eye look.

I am pretty sure I got this exact eyeshadow trio in my Feb Allure Beauty Box and I thought it was really lovely. There is something weird though….let me show you!

Similar, right?!?!?! Maybe I am blind.

They have different names but I SWEAR they are the exact same. Regardless, they are beautiful!

Sixth Item: Luxie Brush

I am obsessed with Luxie brushes and this will be a great addition to my collection.

So here is the final lineup!

And here are some swatches!

Overall, I am really excited about this box and I can see myself using every product! I think the price ($10/month) is great BUT I did see that they are increasing to $13/month which I am not thrilled about. I feel like I can get these same type of products in Ipsy which is still $10/month and more personalized. What do you guys think?

As always, thanks for reading! Til next time!
