GlobeIn Tasting Unboxing

Today, I have a super exciting unboxing that I haven’t seen many people do (which is surprising because it’s amazing). Make sure to check out my video if you want to see my awesome awkwardness in action.

Ok, so as the title implies, we are looking into the GlobeIn Tasting box which was one of the themes for March. If you are unfamiliar with the subscription, let me tell you a little bit about it! This subscription features handmade, ethically sourced goods from around the world by amazing artisans. Each Artisan Box is filled with at least $70 in value and includes 4-5 handmade items by artists from around the world. The cost is $48 a month but there is a more ‘add-on’ type subscription if you are interested. Also, I have a referral link which will get you $30 off the Artisan Box if you’re interested.

I forgot to take a picture of the outer box

So as you can see, the box is a decent size (and if you can’t see, check out the video). I am going to go ahead and show you the two *free* glasses I got for signing up! They literally always have promos going on where you get free items like this.

Aren’t these just stunning?! They are SUCH amazing quality and beautiful. I cannot wait to add these to the collection I just ordered from add-ons.

We have the info booklet which tells you about the products and the artisans who made them. I am going to include all the information because I absolutely love it!!!!

First Item: Tasting Journal

Jot down your thoughts and comments on the flavors, origins, and tasting notes of new bottles and brands.

This is such a great thing to include in a tasting box. There are so many intricate details that go into different beers, wines, and teas. I love picking up on these notes but I have the worst memory so keeping track of what I like and why I like it is always a struggle. This give me one organized place to keep track of my thoughts! My whole family loves craft beers so this will be a great way to share and discuss with them.

Second Item: Handwoven Bottle Coaster

Dress your favorite 40-ounce bottle of beer, wine, or champagne to add a bit of festive-flare to any table top set-up.

We are always reaching for coasters in our house but we definitely don’t have anything so beautifully made or so large. I mean this can fit a biggggg bottle…..which means more drinking for me! It is nice and thick which means nothing will seep into the surface below which is important in keeping your furniture safe! I just love the colors and that it is handwoven.

Third Item: Hand-carved Flight Stand

Place your teal-rim Tasting Glasses on this stand, cleverly shaped as a wine bottle, for organization.

I have been wanting to get a flight for my home for a while now. My favorite thing when going to a new brewery is to try a bunch of what they have because I am always so indecisive. Now, I can make tasting at home a more fun experience! This could organize any kind of tasting with the cute glasses that are in here too.

Fourth Item: Tasting Glass Set in Teal

Sample new brands of beers and wines, or try out cocktail recipes on your friends.

I AM SO EXCITED!!!! These glasses are SO BEAUTIFUL!!! I cannot emphasize this enough. They are indented on the sides which helps for handling, they are thicker glass -the weight makes it feel unique and valuable, and I love the teal rim. I can see myself putting little toppings in this and of course I can see all kinds of beers, wines, and teas in here too. This is such a great thing to add to my current glassware.

Fifth Item: Bottle Opener Necklace

Wear as a necklace and surprise your friends with its hidden bottle-opening functionality!

There is nothing that says you’re classy like a handmade necklace that functions as a bottle opener. Seriously, look at how stunning this is!!! I am always reaching for random things to open bottles but this is something you can wear as jewelry and then whip out to pop tops. I just love that! Plus, the design is stunning.

Final Thoughts

Here is the final lineup of everything that I received and I am over the moon! Everything fits into the theme so well and is something I can see myself using frequently. I love seeing the artisan’s stories in the booklet and I love that there is support for artisans all over the world. The value is definitely there and each item is visibly high-quality. The functionality of each item is diverse: the glasses can be used for sampling food, beverages; the necklace can just be jewelry or a bottle opener; the coaster can hold any type of bottle or glass. I am just so happy with this!!!! Let me just show you a few more pictures of the items closeup.

There is even this tasty recipe!!!!!!

Thank you guys so so much for reading. Til next time!!

Birchbox March 2019

I did it again – I bought a new subscription because I saw you could get two free gifts. I am a sucker for free things and I don’t know why….like I am still buying something. They always get me. I can pretty much be talked into buying anything. Like literally. It’s a mix between me being too awkward to say no and also I am down to try almost any product at least once.

I also got these two gifts for signing up!

The funny thing is they sent me double which I am really excited about because that pillow spray is the bomb. The little candle is crap though.

I just think this is so cute for an outer box.

And here we can see another box that I will add to my hoarder collection because I have a problem.

This is out little info sheet – I really love this quote. I need to tell myself something like this more often.

Ok, on to the products!

First Item: Manna Kadar Cosmetics Eyedylic Gel Liner – $19

Formulated for long-lasting, budge-proof wear, this jet black eyeliner glides on effortlessly. Dot the color along your lash line, then fill in to create your desired look.

I love this type of pencil eyeliner. I don’t usually buy black so this is nice to have. I have to admit that I suck with liquid eyeliner so I usually take a pencil like this and make everything look like I’m a pro. This specific pencil is so smooth and pigmented. I am really excited to try to add a little more black eyeliner looks to my routine.

Second Item: Purlisse Watermelon Energizing Aqua Balm – $45 for full size

Watermelon hydrates, aloe vera reduces inflammation, and cucumber soothes in this gel moisturizer that instantly energizes skin. Apply a thin, even layer to your face before SPF.

I am so sad this is small because I LOVE IT! Normally, I hate products that have a scent on my face because I am really sensitive. However, this one is so refreshing and delightful that I don’t even mind it. It makes me get all kinds of summer vibes and let’s be real, everyone wants that. The balm itself is really light and it doesn’t take much to drench your face in hydration. I definitely think this is a homerun.

Third Item: Marula Light Hair Oil Treatment – $26 for full size

This sulfate- and paraben-free oil conditions, tames frizz, and adds shine without weighing hair down. Run a dime-sized amount through damp or dry strands.

I have been trying this out for like a week now and I don’t know that I’ve seen any difference. I can tell you this: it is super lightweight and doesn’t weigh down my thin ass hair so that’s a plus. As far as benefits go, I really can’t see any. Also, there is no scent which is unfortunate for me with hair products because I want my hair to smell like a perfumed luscious garden.

Fourth Item: Natura Castanha Hand Cream – $19.50 for full size

This rich, delicately scented hand balm softens and smooths skin while strengthening its natural moisture barrier. It leaves your hands feeling nourished, not greasy.

This is a really great hand cream that is nice and thick but not overbearing. It makes my skin feel nice and hydrated – I have been putting it on before bed and my hands have been feeling soft and refreshed every morning. It doesn’t have much scent which is pleasant. The price point for a full-size seems affordable too!

Fifth Item: Model Co Metallic Eyeshadow Trio in Positano – $18 for full size

Three complimentary shimmery shades of light peach, violet, and chocolate make uptimes this vibrant metallic palette that’ll give you a sultry eye look.

I am pretty sure I got this exact eyeshadow trio in my Feb Allure Beauty Box and I thought it was really lovely. There is something weird though….let me show you!

Similar, right?!?!?! Maybe I am blind.

They have different names but I SWEAR they are the exact same. Regardless, they are beautiful!

Sixth Item: Luxie Brush

I am obsessed with Luxie brushes and this will be a great addition to my collection.

So here is the final lineup!

And here are some swatches!

Overall, I am really excited about this box and I can see myself using every product! I think the price ($10/month) is great BUT I did see that they are increasing to $13/month which I am not thrilled about. I feel like I can get these same type of products in Ipsy which is still $10/month and more personalized. What do you guys think?

As always, thanks for reading! Til next time!

I Always Ask Myself If I’m Going to Cancel This – Allure

I literally have the worst luck with the Allure Beauty Box.

I don’t know if it is just me or what, but I never get it in a timely manner or they lose it. This month, both happened! I was tracking my package from the beginning of March and it made progress for a couple of days….then literally for weeks nothing happened again. I am not the type of person to really get mad but I emailed them a couple of days ago like ‘hey, I have no idea what happened to my box’ and they were like ‘yeah, it’s lost – let use send you a new one’……

OK… a few days go by and one randomly shows up in my mailbox. This box has some random person’s address on it that was blacked out with a sharpie and my address hand written on it…I don’t know if this is the replacement or my actual box, but here we are.

Let’s open it up!

I like the white bag with the gold! I also like seeing something outside of the bag because that means it is full of goodies.

The booklet is very pretty!

Why do I have the worst luck? Does anyone ever get these where the bag isn’t broken?

First Item: Au Naturale The Anywhere Cr̩me Mulitstick in Grapefruit (Full Size) Р$35

This was listed as an Editor’s Pick and has a little blurb that I don’t feel like typing out but basically says this is great when used as a cream blush on your cheeks for a subtle hint of color.

Let me swatch it for you:

The issue I have with this is that I don’t really like metallic or shimmer blushes. I also have never used a cream blush but I might give this a try if I am ever feeling confident in my makeup abilities. I actually wouldn’t mind this as a lip color personally…so that might be the route I will go if I use this. I can’t believe it is so expensive for something I can’t really see myself ever using.

Second Item: Acure Seriously Soothing Night Oil (0.3 oz) – $3.89 ($12.99 for 1oz)

I am not really sure how to add this into a skincare routine. My routine consists of cleanse, tone, serum, and then moisturizer. I don’t know if an oil should be added in at some point or takes the place of the serum. In the meantime, I am going to look that up and then let y’all know. However, if you are more educated than myself, please leave me a comment below!

This comes in a rollerball form which I actually hate. I think it’s weird that the bottle itself didn’t have any branding on it…..I started thinking ‘oh hell, I am putting some random ass stuff on my face and now I will break out’. Funny story: I did end up breaking out after using something in the box…..but since I am stupid and didn’t methodically try out new products one at a time, I have no idea what it was. Anyways, this is an oil with a rollerball. I can’t say much more than that.

Third Item: Mamonde Rose Water Toner (25ml) – $2.30 ($23 for 250 ml)

So in my last Allure box I got an oil to foam cleanser that I am OBSESSED with! This toner is no exception to my new found love for this brand. It has the most beautiful light rose scent and really cleans up the trace amount of makeup left after cleansing. I am definitely going to be purchasing the full version of this after I use up my current toner.

Fourth Item: Biossance Squalance + Vitamin C Rose Oil (4ml) – $9.60 ($72 for 30ml)

Again, I have no idea when to use an oil. This absorbed nicely enough (I didn’t use a serum). I feel so weird trying to review skincare because it really takes a while to see any benefits.

Fifth Item: Amika Velveteen Dream Smoothing Balm (60ml) – $10 per the website ($25 for 200ml per the website)…which is weird because the price shouldn’t be that high if my math is correct…

Um….I love this product…………….I also accidentally didn’t read what this was when I first used it and used it as a lotion……so don’t do that. BUT when you use it in your hair, it makes frizz go away and silky luscious hair appear. I really think I am going to buy a full size of this. I get so nervous trying out hair products because I am afraid it will weigh my hair down (my hair is pretty thin) but this one definitely did not add any extra weight. There isn’t much of a scent which is kind of a bummer but I still love this.

Sixth Item: Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb (10ml) – $7.60 ($38 for 50ml)

The packaging of this is just so adorable. When you put this on your face, it has this great silicone feeling which leaves your skin feeling ahhhh-mazing. It also has some great hydrating power and feels so light. The best thing about this is that you really can cover a large amount of your face with the tinniest amount of product. Even though this is a tiny sample, it will definitely last a while.

Seventh Item: Derma-E Microdermabrasion Scrub – $32.50 for a full size. I don’t know the size of this sample

This is a great little sample of facial scrub. It has the most delicate, fine abrasiveness to it but you know it is gently scraping off the dead skin cells from your face. I love how gentle this product is. If I ever have the desire to purchase a facial scrub, this will definitely be a top contender.

So the total of this box minus the sample of Derma-E comes to $68.39….like….this is the reason I never cancel this. If you consider the price of a regular subscription for this ($15/month) then that is an AMAZING value. I hate that I love this subscription so much but I really love it. Like it has to be true love to put up with the headache.

If you would like to join me in this, I have a referral link which advertises either 2 Sunday Riley samples or a Ouai trio sample. I believe you can even get your box for $10….and if you’re like me and complain because they can be such nightmare to deal with and threaten that you’re going to cancel because your heart can’t handle this heart break month after month……………you can get 4 months for $10/month……….so……..don’t say I didn’t help you out here!

Thanks for reading! Til next time!

Did You Know Sunday Riley Has A Subscription Box?!

I’m not sure how I heard about these but I did….and they are expensive!!! They have a one time purchase ($95) and a recurring quarterly subscription ($85.10). I opted for the one time purchase and I think I had a discount…although I honestly don’t remember. As of this post, this box is still available for purchase if you like what’s inside!

The theme for this box is Love. I haven’t seen many people unbox this so lets dive in! I’m excited!!!

The box is gorgeous and BIG! This will definitely go into my collection of boxes.

Inside is just as gorgeous and filled with all kinds of interesting looking goodies.

This is a decent little booklet that feels amazing. I may or may not have spent some time just petting the booklet…….it’s a quality booklet y’all. I am also going to include any promo codes they listed because YOLO.

Here is a little blurb about this box. Like I said, the theme is LOVE – specifically self-love.

If you guys want to see the size of items relative to my lovely face and surroundings, make sure to check out my video!

First Item: Oribe Serene Scalp Soothing Leave-On Treatment – $48

Instant relief. This lightweight and fast-absorbing leave-on treatment removes dandruff flakes awhile cooling mint and calming chamomile soothe and balance the scalp.

I think this is a really interesting product to include in the box and I am really excited about it! I haven’t tried it out as of yet because I am nervous, but I will make sure to review in a weekly update so you guy can find out. I am worried it might weigh my hair down too much – I try to avoid putting anything on my roots.

Second Item: Lipstick Queen Method in the Madness Lipstick – $25

Swirls of ultra-luxe creamy hues combine into one bold lip color of its own.

First off, I love this packaging so much! It’s so fun and I wish I could take a quality picture of the actual lipstick because it has the most gorgeous swirls in it (check out my video to see).

Let me swatch it for you:

This formula is so creamy and smooth. It glides on like a dream and the color is SO beautifully pigmented. I am really excited to wear this for everyone to see…plus, I love the swirls.

Third Item: Rifle Paper Co. 2019 Juliet Rose Pocket Agenda – $14

This pocket agenda proves great things can come in pretty, petite packages. The pages inside offer four views: monthly, weekly, daily, and a section for notes.

I love planners. Ever since the dawn of my time, I have written down exactly what I need to/want to do for the day. This is so beautiful and floral which is definitely my style. I love that I can throw this in a purse or diaper bag and tote it around with me easily.

Fourth Item: Corpus Natural Deodorant – $22 (promo code: SUNDAY5 for $5 off your purchase)

Long-lasting formula with naturally derived enzymes and plant extracts.

I was so nervous about this product after my FabFitFun Fail with the natural deodorant they sent. This one is SO MUCH BETTER! The formula is much better quality in my opinion. It spreads so easily and gives the feeling of actual coverage. I have to admit, I am a sweaty person but this has some good staying power and made me feel like my perspiration was being controlled. The scent is pleasant but isn’t overly abundant. I don’t mind that but usually the only way I know if anything is working is if I can smell it….that being said, I put it on during a pretty low-key day and I don’t know what I would trust it if I was doing anything physical.

Fifth Item: The Perfect V VV Cream Gentle Exfoliator – $34 (20% off with sundayriley)

It is pure, indulgent pampering for your “V” that is pH-balances, dermatologist and gynecologist tested without parabens or SLS and fragrance-free.

I didn’t know this was a thing that people would seek out and holy hell, it’s freaking $34….. I am annoyed that it is branded in the way that it is and that the directions explicitly state that it is for the ‘v’. Like. You’re limiting yourself SO much by marketing that way. Anyone who shaves anything needs to exfoliate that area.

That being said, I used this on my legs to see what it would be like. The concept of an exfoliating cream as opposed to an exfoliating wash is strange to me. Sure enough, this product is weird. It has small, fine textured granules which is pleasant enough…but they don’t go away. It doesn’t say to wash them off. If you were using this in your nether-regions then you’d be going about your day with gritty bits. Who wants that. It’s like rolling around on a sandy beach and not rinsing off.

Sixth Item: The Perfect V VV Beauty Sheet – $2/sheet (20% off with sundayriley)

I guess this is a fancy cleansing wipe (LOL at the fact the called it a beauty sheet). They didn’t actually send anything so I can’t review it which might be nice considering we may have gotten a little too personal in here. Again, why they would market towards just females is beyond me – we all need cleanliness.

Seventh Item: Maison Du Soir Robe – $100 (20% off with MDSSUNDAY)

The design of this robe is exclusively created for Sunday Riley. Maison Du Stir is a contemporary sleep and loungewear line dedicated to bridge the divide between daywear and sleepwear.

Holy cow, this is an expensive ass robe. I swear on my life I bought an exact replica of this from Target for $20. It is surprisingly thin and sheer……….and it’s a robe the I would never pay $100 for. So.

Next, we have a cute little bubble wrap plastic bag I had to take a picture of!

Two products are in here!!

Eighth Item: Sunday Riley CEO Rapid Flash Brightening Serum – $45

This hydrating antioxidant formula instantly polishes, protects, and illuminates the skin, while phytosterols help to reduce the look of redness and skin sensitivity.

Ok, this is weird to me. I looked on their website because I was like ‘this is not full-size…..but that can’t be because why in the ever loving world would they not put a full-size of their own product in their own box?!?!’……

You guys. This isn’t full size. Like my TestTube Beauty had a full-size serum but this actual Sunday Riley box doesn’t. That’s actually annoying because this is why I bought this box. Regardless, I am really excited to use this. I love Sunday Riley products and I haven’t tried this one yet. The retinoid I am using by them (from my TestTube Beauty box) is amazing so far. After I finish up that one, I will get to using this one!

Ninth Item: Sunday Riley CEO Glow Face Oil – $40

Beauty-infused carrier oils boost the delivery of this cutting-edge Vitamin C cocktail while the highest concentration of antioxidants protect, balance, and soothe.

Ok, this is so frustrating. Again, this is NOT full-size. Why did they do this?!?!?! This is so annoying!!!!!! With that being said, it’s freaking amazing. I learned that you use oils after everything in your skincare routine and let me tell you, I feel like this is a game changer. It absorbed to a nice, manageable amount on my face but it stepped my hydration game up so much without leaving me feeling greasy or too oily. It is also SO lightweight and the smell reminds me of a really fancy olive oil….which sounds weird in my mind as I am typing this up but I really like fancy, expensive olive oil.

Tenth Item: Maude Vibe – $45 (15% off with Sunday15)

The Vibe was created to simplify sex. Tired of seeing outdates, over-assorted and gendered approach to a human experience?

I believe sexual health is just as important as mental health and physical health. I appreciate that they included something geared more towards sexual health in this box for the theme of ‘love’. I also think this particular vibe can be used anywhere on the body, for any gender. The silicone is so soft and I appreciate that this isn’t a typical vibe shape – it is more tasteful and artistic. The pouch is super cute and I love that it is rechargeable! Plus, there is a travel lock which seems handy. Also to note, you can use this while charging.

As far as vibrations go, it has 3 settings that drastically increase in strength. The vibration isn’t too buzzy which is a really nice feature! The vibration is almost exclusively concentrated in the upper third of the vibe which is unfortunate because it seems to pinpoint the vibration meaning that more delicate, sensitive areas might experience too much of a stimulation overload. However, if you are using this over less sensitive area like shoulder blades or things of that nature, this really would help you get to a specific spot.

Final Thoughts

Here is the final lineup! Overall, I really think this box is great. I love the variety of items in here and the value is definitely there. I do have some issues though.

  1. Why the hell did they not include their own products as full-sized?
  2. Who in the hell would pay $100 for that robe? Put the money into the other products. Sheesh.
  3. Why would they send a paper that represents a product and not the actual product?
  4. I really have a problem with the fact that this is just so female centered. Yes, I am sure that most subscribers are female. Yes, every product can be used with any gender. The issue is that there are two products that are specially geared toward women – specially the ‘v’ for which the products are actually tastelessly named. That’s just such a stupid marketing strategy since the world seems to be moving in a more gender neutral way. I am not trying to be political or anything, but I do think that they should have made this box that appeals to any gender because skincare, self-love, and embracing your own sexuality should be all-inclusive. Also, that exfoliant is just freaking weird.

I’d love to know what you guys think! Am I over-analyzing this too much? I probably am. Maybe it was the fact they didn’t put their own products full-sized and it made me cranky.

As always, thank you so so much for reading! Til next time!
